This timeline of events of the recovery following the Almeda Fire was developed by Firebrand Resiliency Collective (FRC) to help document the ongoing journey of recovery in the Rogue Valley. The fire’s destruction in September 2020 devastated thousands of lives and homes across Jackson County, Oregon, leaving lasting trauma in its wake. Recovery has been anything but linear—it is a deeply human and often painful process that continues to this day. Yet amid the hardship, a powerful story has emerged: one of sustained collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies; nonprofit and community-based organizations; and—most importantly—our incredibly resilient community of survivors. This timeline serves as both a record and a tribute to the collective strength and tireless work that continues to rebuild, heal, and prepare our region for a safer future.
